Unlock Your Jazz Guitar Potential
You can learn jazz guitar without spending hours trying to piece it together yourself. I know it can be frustrating having to bounce between different books, courses, and teachers – and still not really know how to put everything together.
It’s easy to find information about how to play jazz guitar. There are books, websites, youtube videos, teachers, courses…
… the list goes on.
But even with all that information out there, you still run into a problem:
You have pieces of the puzzle, but you don’t know how to put it together.
You might even wish that there was just one thing you could do that would help it all make sense.
I mean, there has to be a single book or course that just lays it all out – and shows you exactly what to do. Right?
Wrong.
And believe me, I’ve looked. When I was in school, I devoured everything I could about jazz guitar. And I ran into the same problems as you.
Little pieces of the puzzle here and there – but nothing that put it all together in a way that made any sense.
And when I did find something that claimed to be a “complete” method, it always left me feeling disappointed.
And here’s why:
Jazz guitar is a complicated topic. There is no single path that is good for everyone to take.
Here are some examples from my own teaching experience:
- You might be really good at chords, but are a complete beginner at scale patterns
- Or maybe you can play pretty good solos, but have next to no chord vocabulary (this was me, actually)
- And maybe you learn scales really fast – but arpeggios are kind of a struggle
These are examples of why there is no “one size fits all” approach to learning jazz guitar.
I spent years figuring out how to make this easier – both for me, and for the private students I work with every day. And here’s what I found:
You need to have a structured, but flexible approach to learning this stuff.
You need a good step by step structure for each of the 3 main guitar playing skills:
- Chords
- Scales
- Arpeggios
And you also need to have the flexibility to be working at different levels across those skills. We all have different things we’re naturally better at – and things where we need to be able to take a step back.
That’s why I started the Jazz Guitar School.
I wanted to help give people everywhere the same approach I use with my own students every day.
